Every year at Hallway we like to pause and take a look at the state of the UK’s craft beer market. We’re at that stage of the year right now and, following on from our article last year, we’ve been analysing what has been happening over the last year. We’ve seen some very big players in the global beer market merge, while back home Brexit’s uncertainty has had some significant effect on Big Beer, particularly within the Supermarket arena. However, Craft Beer has surged on, with 520 breweries opening in 2016 and just last month London broke through the 100 mark of active brewers.
Whilst in this process of looking at the market, we've been asked to appear on BBC Radio 4's You and Yours consumer programme to discuss the impact of this growth on the market.
With so much happening in the market over the last year, we’re still very much in the process of analysing what all of it means for the industry, consumers and pubs.
